Totally screwed up last week. I got frustrated on Monday so I kind of gave up. We ate out 3 days, I had coke several days in a row, didn't even attempt to exercise, and I made Texas sheet cake last night (not for us), and ate all the rejects. Frankly, I'm surprised I only gained half a pound back.
I need to stop my fat girl habits -- I like to exercise, I feel better about myself when I eat good -- but it's so easy to slip back into the bad habits. This week I will stick to the goals I set for myself.

I get frustrated too easily.
Like I said in the last post -- when I exercise, I don't lose as much weight. I have been getting frustrated all week and so I have only lost .5 lbs this week so far. I still have a few days before weigh in but we're going to be out all day on Saturday -- and on the road, so there will be coke and burgers. I really have to learn to just live and not get so frustrated with the number on the scale -- just eat my healthy food and exercise and feel good. One good thing that has already happened -- my blood pressure has been down a little and that makes me Haaaaaapppyyyyyy!!!!!

Urgh
My goal was to lose 3 lbs a week -- I lost 2.5 this week. I really have to step it up this next week. Here's my thing (and it doesn't make sense, I know) -- I know exactly what to eat to lose weight without exercising. Not the exact calories, but the frequency and meal sizes. This week we started exercising as a family and we got out 4 times. The days that I added in exercise, I didn't lose at all or very little. It doesn't make sense, but this is how it's worked for the last year. And, obviously, if I didn't have to exercise to lose weight, why would I? Only now it's not just about losing weight, it's about getting healthy and getting my family to start healthy habits. So....I guess it's ok if I only lost 2.5 lbs. I feel like I did pretty good this week as far as eating and exercising. I did have a coke with my cheat meal on Saturday night and it was heaven -- but I still don't feel like I need one all the time. I really want to up the exercise this week -- have my own exercise time and time to get out with the family. My goal for this next week -- 3.5 lbs to make up for last week.

Starting this thing off.
Goals this week to start off the competition:
1. Eat less at meals
2. Exercise at least 4 times a week (I love DDP Yoga and walking)
3. Drink more water!!! I'm down to 1 coke a week (miracle!!), but I tend to just not drink.
4. Cook my own food with one eat-out meal a week.
It's day 3 of the competition and I'm doing well on all of these so far. I've only walked once this week, so I have to step that up. I'm not too scared for Valentine's day, since we're not really celebrators (Romantic breakfast of whole wheat, organic heart pancakes and sausage is our only plan for the holiday), but I did just realize that we will be going on vacation for one week of the challenge in March. We'll be staying at a friend's house with access to a kitchen, so that will make it easier, but I'll definitely have to make a plan before we go and stick to it!
